Parvet - 2024

Valeria, a successful African-Finnish footballer, is chosen as the team's new captain. Her new position creates pressure and uncomfortable feelings as she searches for her own truth under the pressure of others' expectations. Aurora, a non-binary worker, would like to find her own place and be accepted, but feels invisible. Nora, who is looking for love, feels she is only seen through her dark skin and curly hair. Racist comments echo into close relationships and make Nora question the intentions of her new crush. Selma, who grew up in all-white surroundings, is locked in underground tunnels with her choir during rehearsals. Selma is forced to find her own way out, and in the darkness she encounters her own nightmare of Finnish identity. Young activist Piera Niillas dreams of a society free from oppression. Together with her own Sámi community, she takes part in a political debate about her rights.
