The life of the successful Liv collapses when her husband Simon dies in a plane crash. Then doubts arise: Simon has never checked in. Where is he and why has no one heard from him?

With her husband still missing, Liv persuades Erik - Simon's police investigator brother - to help with the case. Meanwhile, Simon has taken Leyla and Omid to an abandoned holiday cottage in an attempt to protect them from her violently jealous husband...

Liv searches for Simon and the mysterious woman and child from the security footage. She gets help from Simon's brother Erik, who is neglecting his job.

As the police investigation into the crash refocuses itself as a terrorism investigation, Liv discovers a revealing DNA test. With Simon abducted, Kevin travels back to Iran in an attempt to free Leyla's second son from Majid...

As Liv and Haje get closer, Simon is smuggled into Iran and Kevin is caught and tortured by Majid. When Simon is about to be handed over to Leyla's husband, an unknown gunman shoots both of Majid's henchmen dead...

Wanted by the police in connection with a terrorist attack, Simon is now being held captive by Majid's rival. Liv and Haje dig further into Kevin's involvement and Leyla, still locked up in the abandoned holiday cottage, manages to make a hole in the wall big enough for Omid to escape...

With the police investigation into the crash concluding that it was a technical failure, Simon is now in the hands of Majid's rivals, who wish to exchange him with Majid for weapons...

Now in the hands of Majid, Simon is forced to reveal Leyla's whereabouts. Unbeknown to either men, Leyla has been freed from the cottage by Haje. When Majid's henchmen search the cottage, they have a surprise encounter.

Majid's accomplices convince him that Leyla has been killed. As the deadline for handing Omid over passes, Haje coolly instructs Majid to get rid of their burden. However, an innocent victim steps into the path of the bullet...

Simon performs an emergency operation on his young son and when Liv travels to Iran she is caught by Majid and imprisoned with Simon. Kevin and the Iranian police are hot on their heels but will they get to them on time?
