Ramon Sosa is a boxing trainer, public speaker, author, and former professional boxer. He competed in over 100 amateur fights and later moved to Texas to pursue a professional boxing career. He had a successful amateur boxing career and later transitioned to professional boxing, but left the sport due to bad management and the perceived ruthlessness of the industry. He taught pros and Olympic hopefuls how to spar the fast-paced Puerto Rican way and is one of the best-known boxing trainers in southeast Texas. He gained attention for faking his own murder, with the help of police, after his estranged wife, Maria 'Lulu' de Lourdes Dorantes hired a hitman, who was actually an undercover officer. in October 2016, Lulu pleaded guilty to solicitation of capital murder; a judge sentenced her to 20 years in prison. He now dedicates his time to Young Prospects Boxing, a non-profit organization, and speaks publicly about abusive relationships.
